Project and Lifecycle Management Training FAQs

Do I need to have project management experience to attend a PRINCE2 course?

No, there are no pre-requisites for either the PRINCE2 Foundation Only and PRINCE2 Foundation with Practitioner courses. Both courses present the required PRINCE2 method for project management, covering all material necessary for the PRINCE2 Foundation exam and PRINCE2 Practitioner exam as applicable.

It is recommended that you undertake pre-reading prior to the course, and reading material is provided to you once you are booked on and have paid for the course.

Who delivers Equinox’s PRINCE2 training courses?

Equinox partners with CC Consulting (also known as Crazy Colour) who deliver PRINCE2 training internationally. CC Consulting often use Equinox training rooms in New Zealand and also list their New Zealand courses on our public training schedule. CC Consulting is an Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) for PRINCE2, and their trainers and course materials are also accredited. They have a fantastic track record running PRINCE2 training. You can book on public CC Consulting's PRINCE2 training courses through Equinox and also contact us for in-house PRINCE2 training enquiries.

What is the difference between PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE2 Practitioner courses and associated certificates?

The PRINCE2 Foundation course is three-days long and introduces you to the PRINCE2 project management method. At the end of the course you will sit the PRINCE2 Foundation exam, which is a one hour multiple-choice closed-book examination with 75 questions (38 to pass).

The PRINCE2 Foundation with Practitioner course includes the first three days of the foundation course and continues for another two days providing you with practical knowledge of how to manage projects using the PRINCE2 method. On the fifth day of the course you will sit the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam, which is a three hour multiple choice open-book (PRINCE2 Manual only) examination with a total of 360 marks available (50% to pass).

How much preparation effort is required for the PRINCE2 Practitioner course?

The PRINCE2 Practitioner exam is challenging. CC Consulting provide an information pack in advance to all participants who have booked and paid for the course. They recommend 20 hours of preparation prior to attending the course. Participants would also be wise to revise material during the evenings of week of the course.
