Agile Software Development Training FAQs

What is Agile Software Development?

Agile software development is about having sufficient formality on a software project and no more. It is a movement away from large heavy weight approaches to software development which due to high formality sometimes lost sight of what is important.

The Agile Manifesto sets out core values and principles of agile software development. A number of agile approaches and practices loosely fit under the agile umbrella - many of which you would have heard of - scrum, extreme programming, DSDM, test driven development, and so forth.

A comprehensive explanation is provided at Wikipedia.

Why attend an Equinox Agile Software Development training course?

As with all of our training, Equinox Learning uses seasoned practitioners to deliver our agile courses. In the case of Agile we use instructors who mentor New Zealand organisations through agile change.

Agile is more than adopting agile practices. Successful agile adoption is about a change in attitude. Adopting and living the agile values and principles. This mindset change is a key theme in Equinox courses.
