Equinox IT has welcomed Victoria MacLennan, a well-respected New Zealand technology leader, to its Board as an independent director, strengthening its governance as the company expands its artificial intelligence, cloud and digital services.

Victoria (or Vic as she is known) is one of Aotearoa’s influential figures in digital technology governance, with extensive experience in capability development, national security, standards and digital policy. Her governance credentials include serving as chair of the Standards Approval Board, a member of the Ministerial Cyber Security Advisory Committee and co-chair of the Digital Technologies Industry Transformation Partnership Board.

Alongside her public sector governance experience, Vic has supported a range of private sector companies as a director and advisor, and as a mentor and coach for chief executives. She was co-founder and chief executive of data analytics consultancy OptimalBI (acquired by Ackama) and served as chief executive of IT Professionals NZ. Vic has long advocated for digital literacy as chair of Digital Future Aotearoa, and for digital equity as ngā kaiurungi (co-chair) of the Digital Equity Coalition Aotearoa.

Victoria joins the Board at a pivotal moment as Equinox IT expands its footprint across enterprise AI and modern technology transformation.

“Equinox IT has built a strong reputation for delivering practical, secure and people-first technology,” says Vic MacLennan. “AI is fundamentally changing how organisations operate, and the challenge now is to help businesses navigate that shift safely, securely, and with real capability. I look forward to contributing my expertise in governance and technology leadership to help shape that strategy and support Equinox IT’s next phase of growth.”

Victoria joins Chair and Executive Director Paul Ramsay and Non-Executive Director Richard Leeke on the Equinox IT Board.

“Vic is an exceptional leader with a genuine commitment to building New Zealand’s digital capability,” said Equinox IT Board Chair, Paul Ramsay. “We are very fortunate to have Vic join our Board, and her perspective and contribution will be invaluable in shaping the company’s future.”
