Equinox IT celebrates 20 years

Equinox IT Celebrates 20 Years at the Prefab in Wellington

Equinox IT opened for business on 1 April 1995.

On Saturday night the whole Equinox IT team, including partners and key business partners came together at Prefab in Wellington to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Entertained by musician Shaun Preston and comedy actors The Improvisors, the evening was filled with conversation, memories, humour and great music. It was a fitting celebration for a fantastic achievement and a night that will be relived in Equinox IT folklore for a long time to come.

As Equinox IT Chairman Kim Wicksteed reminded us, in 1995 the World Wide Web was in its infancy, Black Magic won the America’s Cup and Jim Bolger was the New Zealand Prime Minister. In that same year Roger Dalgleish, Paul Ramsay, Nev Flaws and Richard Leeke founded Equinox in Wellington based on a shared belief that they could deliver better IT services backed by a core set of values focusing on people, knowledge sharing, honesty and openness, and making a difference.

20 years later, Roger, Paul, Nev and Richard all continue to actively work in the Equinox IT business on a daily basis. Roger as Managing Director and Paul, Nev and Richard as Principal Consultants and Technical Specialists and all of them as Directors on the Board. While the company has grown to over 65 employees with offices in Wellington and Auckland, the core company values have remained unchanged since the company’s founding.

The company continues to grow and evolve to meet the changing needs of clients in an exciting world where technology is ubiquitous in all parts of business life. We’re all looking forward to making a difference to our clients in IT for the next 20 years, around a shared set of values that make us uniquely Equinox IT.
